Due to a merchant breach, Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union received a list of member’s debit cards that potentially could be used for fraudulent transactions. It is the credit union policy to try and contact our members by phone, close the compromised card, and reissue a new card by mail or instant issue.
There has been talk around town that the credit union was hacked. The credit union was not hacked. We have many layers of security protecting our members information. This was a merchant issue!
We work very hard to protect our members and their information. We are acting proactively to protect our member’s accounts.
